The Kirin440HD is an industrial roll-to-sheet monochrome inkjet printing system designed for high-volume book production, transactional printing and commercial print applications in Print-on-Demand (PoD) environments.
Combining the flexibility of roll-fed digital printing with automated sheeting and stacking in a single production line, the system reduces manual handling, streamlines workflow and shortens production turnaround times.
Equipped with industrial piezoelectric printheads and Single-Pass technology, the Kirin440HD delivers offset-comparable print quality while maintaining high production efficiency and low operating costs.

Book Production and Transactional Printing
The Kirin440HD has been developed for print service providers operating medium and high-volume digital production environments. The system is ideally suited for the production of books, manuals, technical documentation, transactional documents and personalised Variable Data Printing (VDP) applications.
Native support for variable data enables the seamless printing of serial numbers, barcodes, QR codes and other dynamic content without compromising production speed.
With a maximum web width of 440 mm and a print width of up to 432 mm, the system is optimised for efficient 2-up production – a widely adopted format in monochrome book manufacturing and transactional printing. This configuration maximises substrate utilisation while maintaining stable web handling throughout the production process.
Roll-to-Sheet Production with Inline Finishing
The production line integrates web unwinding, web guiding, Single-Pass inkjet printing and an optional inline cutting and stacking module. This enables partially or fully automated production from roll to finished sheet stacks or separated book sections.
The optional finishing module performs inline longitudinal and cross cutting at speeds of up to 120 m/min. It also supports lightweight substrates from 45 gsm and can be integrated with folding, gathering and bookbinding systems.
The Offset Book-Division function automatically separates book blocks, reducing manual postpress operations and improving production efficiency.
High-Performance Inkjet System
The Kirin440HD utilises industrial ceramic piezoelectric printheads with active ink recirculation, engineered for stable operation in demanding production environments. The system minimises the risk of nozzle clogging, reduces cleaning cycles and supports continuous production at high operating speeds.

The system uses a proprietary low-moisture water-based pigment ink developed specifically for high-speed monochrome printing while minimising the impact of moisture on paper.
The combination of active ink recirculation and small droplet technology reduces ink consumption and cleaning requirements while maintaining excellent image quality and high optical density.

The Kirin440HD features a professional RIP and workflow platform developed for industrial digital printing environments. The system provides efficient PDF processing, Variable Data Printing (VDP) support and reliable production performance under demanding workloads.
An optional Mark Reading function enables accurate overprinting on pre-printed rolls and previously prepared substrates.
